QueUp ("QueUp", "we", "us", or "our") operates the queue management platform available at https://queup.co. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and sell information when you use our services, whether as a restaurant operator or as a customer joining a queue.

2. Information We Collect

A. Restaurant Account Data

When you register as a restaurant operator, we collect:

  • Name and email address
  • Restaurant name and phone number
  • Billing and payment information (processed by our payment providers — we do not store full card details)
  • Login credentials

B. Queue Customer Data

When an individual joins a queue via a restaurant's QR code, we collect:

  • Name
  • Party size
  • Phone number (if provided)
  • Queue join time, wait time, and seated time
  • The restaurant location associated with the queue

C. Usage and Technical Data

  • IP address, browser type, and device information
  • Pages visited and features used within the platform
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 7)

3. How We Use Your Information

Restaurant Account Data

We use restaurant account data solely to:

  • Provide and maintain the QueUp service
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Send service-related communications (billing, updates, support)
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell, share, or use restaurant account data for advertising or third-party commercial purposes.

Queue Customer Data

We use queue customer data to:

  • Operate the queue management service on behalf of the restaurant
  • Display your queue position and estimated wait time
  • Generate aggregated analytics (e.g. average wait times, peak hours)
  • Improve our platform and develop new features
  • Share with or sell to third parties as described in Section 4

4. Data Sharing and Sale

Queue Customer Data — Sale and Sharing

We may sell or share queue customer data (including names, party sizes, wait times, and associated restaurant location data) with third parties for purposes including market research, analytics, advertising, and business intelligence. This data may be shared in individual or aggregated/anonymised form.

By joining a queue through the QueUp platform, you acknowledge and consent to this use of your data.

Restaurant Account Data — Not Sold

We do not sell, rent, or share restaurant operator account data (email addresses, contact information, billing details) with third parties for commercial purposes.

Service Providers

We share data with trusted service providers who help us operate the platform, including:

  • Supabase (database and authentication)
  • Razorpay and Dodo Payments (payment processing)
  • Vercel (hosting and infrastructure)

These providers process data only as necessary to deliver their services and are bound by confidentiality obligations.

Legal Disclosure

We may disclose data when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of QueUp, its users, or the public.

5. Data Retention

Restaurant account data is retained for the duration of your account and for up to 3 years after account closure for legal and accounting purposes.

Queue customer data is retained indefinitely unless a deletion request is submitted. You may request deletion of your personal queue data by contacting us at team@queup.co.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data
  • Opt-out of sale (CCPA): California residents may opt out of the sale of their personal information by contacting us
  • Data portability: Request your data in a portable format
  • Objection (GDPR): Object to certain processing activities

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies to maintain your session and remember your currency preference. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect the functionality of the platform.

8. Children's Privacy

QueUp is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International Transfers

Your data may be processed and stored outside your country of residence, including in the United States. By using QueUp, you consent to the transfer of your data to countries that may have different data protection laws than your own.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered restaurant operators of material changes by email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
